About us

Our hilly and tree-lined community, first developed in the 1930s, is roughly bordered on the west by Georgia Avenue, on the east by Colesville Road, on the north by Sligo Creek and on the south by Dale Drive. House styles range from colonials to ramblers to contemporaries.

We are one of the four Woodside neighborhoods. Woodside Park is to our south, North Woodside is to our west, and Woodside is to our southwest.

The name "Woodside Forest" is apt. As was noted in the Washington Post in a real estate ad in 1940: "There are many advantages recommending Woodside Forest...First among these is its beautiful location. It is a heavily wooded section where tall, handsome, oak, elm, and maple trees abound. All of this arboreal wealth has been conserved for the benefit of house owners in this sylvan locality." (Ad excerpted in "Home Sites of Distinction: The History of Woodside Park, Silver Spring, Maryland," by Robert E. Oshel)
